The Calabasas Farmers Market in Old Town Calabasas is a terrific farmers market that offers locally sourced produce including fruit, flowers, honey, nuts, eggs, cheese, wine, and more. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend in Los Angeles, consider planning a visit to this popular outdoor market.

The Old Town Calabasas Farmers Market is one of the best farmers markets in Los Angeles. This open-air market in downtown Calabasas offers everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to specialty food items like pistachio butter, grapefruit marmalade, and pumpkin-spiced honey.
For such a small farmers market, there really is a lot on offer! Likely you’ll be shocked by the range of items sold here and will be planning a trip back before you’ve left! We were so impressed on our first visit that I knew I would be stopping by again the following weekend to pick up another tasty croissant!!
What To Expect At The Calabasas Farmers Market
The Farmers Market in Old Town Calabasas is a terrific outdoor market in the heart of Calabasas where you’ll find local produce, flowers, wine, and other specialty items. On offer are a variety of fruits and vegetables sourced from nearby farms in the San Fernando Valley and Conejo Valley.
You’ll find all types of oranges, mandarins, grapefruit, pomelos, strawberries, blueberries, and of course, plenty of avocados! The best part is that you can sample many of the fruits being sold here. You might even get to try unique produce not available elsewhere like gooseberries.
We had no idea there were so many different varieties of oranges. Besides naval oranges, there was cara cara oranges, valencia oranges, seville oranges, blood oranges, clementines, tangerines, and mandarins available. You can taste all the different varieties of oranges and mandarins to see which one you like best before purchasing.
If you’ve never eaten a gooseberry before, be sure to try one when you visit the Calabasas Farmers Market if they are still in season. They are surprisingly delicious! Although they have the word “berry” in their name, they look and taste similar to a grape.
Be sure to pay a visit to the vendor selling dates too. This vendor sells several varieties of dates including the popular Medjool date. And of course you can sample them before deciding to purchase. The date stall is located near the front section of the markets.
There’s also a variety of other produce being sold here such as organic eggs, sourdough bread, and a variety of nuts such as pistachios, almonds and walnuts.
Along with the standard fresh produce that you would expect to find at a farmers market, you’ll also find specialty food items here such as Greek yogurt, home-made jams and marmalades, nut butters like almond butter and pistachio butter, and so much more. Surprisingly there was even fish that was imported directly from Iceland!
In addition, there are several different ethnic food vendors selling ready-to-eat foods so bring your appetite! For example, there’s an Italian stall selling fresh pastas and mozzarella cheese and a Mexican stand with home-made corn chips and salsa.
There are also three bakeries offering fresh-baked items like croissants, almond cakes, bear claws, fruit turnovers, tarts and quiche. I am an absolute sucker for pastries, and croissants in particular, so naturally I had to try one. All I can say is that the croissant I tried was definitely in the top three most delicious I’ve ever had! It had almond paste inside and chopped pistachios sprinkled on top.
I also recommend the fresh coconut smoothies from Mingle’s Coconuts. They have a few different flavors but I really liked the Matcha flavor.
As you can see, the Calabasas Farmers Market has a wide range of products and something for everyone! There’s no doubt you’re going to find something you love here that will turn you into a regular visitor, even if it’s only once a month.
